Patents granted: How DexLeChem improves a Nobel Prize technology, among others

The commercialization of water-based catalysis (WO 2014/135605 A1) and the reduction of nitro
derivatives (WO 2014/037444 A1) succeed DexLeChem by competitive production processes in the production of pharmaceuticals and other fine chemicals.

The novel process developed by DexLeChem converts previous reactions in mineral oil-based solvents into water. In the production of important pharmaceuticals, expensive noble metal catalysts (nobel prize 2001) which are widely applied in production, are retained in their active form and can thus be reused. These catalysts are not destroyed during the product separation or are deactivated on contact with water as before. This process is not only cost-effective and environmentally friendly at the same time, but also demonstrates competitive advantages in
terms of profitability by more than 20% compared to implemented processes.

Patents for a completely novel reaction pathway to transfer nitro groups into amines using
inexpensive metal-free trichlorosilane have been granted to DexLeChem in full scope by the relevant
authorities: USA (US 9284258B2), EU (EP2892862), China (CN104822642B), Japan (JP2015-530387), and Israel (IL237616). Significant advantages, such as high chemoselectivity, eco friendliness, and safe waste disposal, as well as the applicability of alternative synthesis routes by bypassing blocked patents ensure competition in the production of a wide range of fine chemicals compared to the prior art.
